Beauty in the Pot, a new concept by Paradise Group, introduces the new steamboat dining in a traditional way. They encourage customers to drink directly from the bowl instead of using a spoon. In fact, this makes the soup taste even better. And good news for a rice person, their white rice is free flow.
There are two types of broth available.
The Spicy Nourishing Broth is made of Pork Bone with Szechuan Chilli Oil added into it. Besides this, chinese herbs such as Red Dates, Wolfberries, Ginseng, Dang Gui, etc were used in the broth as well. Customers can have a choice of having mildly spicy, spicy or extra spicy broth.
The alternative is the Beauty Collagen Broth which is non spicy.
If you can’t decide which broth to get, why not go for the Twin Flavors Broth which you can get to try both at a go!
The Sliced Pork Belly($12) for a full portion is quite worth. The thin slice of pork allows the meat to be cooked in a very short time and easy for consumption. If you feel that a full portion is too much, there is a half portion available too.
The first thing that caught my attention in the menu is the Fish Tofu below. This is their Signature Homemade Fish Tofu($3.60 per piece) which is done in a beautiful fish shape. Remember not to stir too vigorously after you drop this into the hot pot as it will break the tofu. This tofu only requires 5-7 minutes to cook and ready to be served.
Another interesting dish is the Century Egg Fish Paste($10). Century Egg lovers should give it a try. So far I have not found any other place having this type of combi, or maybe I could have missed it?
At the end of the meal, Yuzu drinks are served to customers. After a hot hot steamboat, all you need is a refreshing drink.
The staffs are very attentive and polite. Glad to have a very good experience here. Will be back for more the next time.
